I'm sure that is exactly what you thought, right? I fell of the Earth :) Ok all jokes aside I do realize that it has been FOREVER since I last posted. My apologies if you have been in a deep, deep depression because of my sudden absence, but some stuff came up in my personal life that I had to deal with and this blog took a backseat. But I will say that I have missed you!
Where to begin...
Well let me run through the last 7 months:

My husband was in a pretty bad car accident the day after my last post, which is the first of many reasons I have been gone for so long.

My husband was in a pretty bad car accident the day after my last post, which is the first of many reasons I have been gone for so long.
Luckily he was not severely injured. Not wanting to get into all the details I'll just say that he was not in any way at fault other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Miss Lily and I continued to train for our upcoming April run (she skated around at the park after we finished).
I really can't believe after running the 2 mile park loop twice this girl still had the energy to skate. That's kids for ya!
I also continued to train with the racing team I joined and surprisingly the training sessions seemed to get easier, but then I think perhaps maybe it was I who was getting more in shape.

Lily learned to ride her bike without training wheels!!!! And so she was rewarded with a brand new bike.

I took her to a park in town after a few trips around the neighborhood for a change of scenery and so she could show off her skills to a larger audience. I got quite the workout running beside her as she rode back and forth on a stretch of the bike path that had the least hills. But it was so totally worth it.
I took a huge leap and cut my hair. I actually had a really bad experience with this cut and had to have it recut to get it right. My stylist seemed to "get" what I wanted and said all the right things as I showed her picture after picture of what I liked. We discussed what I didn't like as well before I let her get her scissors out.
After she was done cutting it took all the strength in my body not to burst into tears. I HATED the cut and her response was that I just needed a day or two to get used to it. I left the salon trying to convince myself that she was right, but after 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 days I was still so unhappy. It wasn't the shortness of it or the drastic-ness of the change, but I just didn't think she had done a very good job with the shaping of the cut, their were places that were too short and others too long. I felt like my hair looked like I had allowed a blind 5 year old to have at it. I was so embarrassed I went out as little as possible and wore a hat when I did go out.
I scoured the internet and picked the brains of friends and acquaintances to find a different stylist as I no longer had confidence in the lady I had been seeing. I finally settled on Stephanie at a place called "Cutloose." I made an appointment for a free consultation just to get a feel for her and see if my suspicions were right.
The moment I sat in her chair and the consultation began she confirmed most of my suspicions. I was so relieved that I wasn't overreacting or just being silly (as my husband had told me in an attempt to make me feel better ... "It looks fine babe, your being silly.") that I actually teared up sitting in that chair. She made some small adjustments to the cut out of pity and I made an appointment for a few days later for a real cut. The picture above is actually from April, but it is what my final cut looked like.
I'm sure your all so curious to see the first cut, but alas I destroyed any and all pictures of my first botched cut.
I think I'm going to call it quits here for the night. It is 1:44 am where I live and I really need to get to sleep. I have a busy day tomorrow. I'll be back with more as soon as I can.
So happy to be back, but I gotta run.....
